Definition
The Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) is a U.S. Department of Education collection covering public-school access to educational programs, staff, and resources, alongside discipline and other school climate measures. FTE is not headcount
Staffing fields can use full-time equivalent (FTE). A value of 0.5 represents a fraction of a full-time allocation, not half a person. Reported zero and missing staffing are different observations and must remain separate in summaries.
The collection year matters
K12 Atlas release v2026.07 uses CRDC SY 2021–22. Joining these observations to a newer school directory does not update their reporting year. Item definitions and codes should be checked against the relevant collection layout.
