School nurse staffing data
93,766 public schools report nurse FTE; 29,151 report zero nurse FTE. The field is a staffing fact from CRDC.
Reported findings and coverage.
The finding
Nurse FTE gives a school-level staffing signal for health staff reported to CRDC.
How to read it
Read zero, null, and fractional FTE separately. A fractional value can mean shared staff.
Source and vintage
CRDC SY 2021-22 supplement fields, K12 Atlas release v2026.07.
Use and limits
This does not measure health-office hours, contractor coverage, or service quality.
CSV is a public summary slice, not the full paid sheet.
Zero nurse FTE and missing staffing
The 29,151 zero-FTE records are part of 93,766 schools with reported nurse FTE. Use reporting schools as the denominator for a zero-FTE share; including schools with no usable value would change the question. A fractional FTE is a staffing allocation, not the number of hours a health office is open.
The student total attached to zero-FTE rows is an enrollment-based summary, not a count of students who received no health services. The staffing vintage is CRDC SY 2021–22; verify local arrangements for current service availability.
