AP access school data
13,551 public schools report AP coursework in CRDC fields. AP fields are available only where CRDC asked and schools reported them.
Reported findings and coverage.
The finding
AP access fields show whether AP coursework was reported, course counts, and AP enrollment where available.
How to read it
Read AP fields with skip-logic in mind. Null does not always mean no AP.
Source and vintage
CRDC SY 2021-22 course program fields, K12 Atlas release v2026.07.
Use and limits
The page reports participation and course fields. It does not judge rigor, instruction, or outcomes.
CSV is a public summary slice, not the full paid sheet.
How to read AP reporting coverage
The 13,551 schools reporting AP offerings are a subset of 24,715 reporting rows in this release. Neither figure represents every public school. School grade spans and survey applicability matter when choosing a denominator. An unavailable AP response is not automatically a report that no AP coursework is offered.
An offering flag, an enrollment count, and a course record measure different things. Do not describe course records as unique students or AP exam results. Keep CRDC SY 2021–22 with any reused figure.
Read the CRDC field and joining guide. Cite these figures as K12 Atlas, release v2026.07, with the source year shown beside the metric.
