§ Methodology

How to read this.

Source and vintage

Feeder relationships are derived from school attendance boundaries, school locations, district membership, and grade progression. Each row carries a confidence tier and is marked derived.

Use and limits

The 1,317,650 relationship rows include 106,692 SABS exact matches and 1,210,958 district fallback links. “Exact” identifies a geographic matching method, not a current district-confirmed assignment. Fallback relationships are candidate connections and should be filtered separately.

NCES SABS collected attendance boundaries for 2013–14 and 2015–16. These historical maps do not establish today’s student assignment. Check current district feeder charts and enrollment rules; do not treat derived links as observed transfers or guaranteed admission.
